Allistragh Irish Dance School

The Allistragh School of Irish Dancing was formally known as Micken and has had a long  established existence in Salisbury.

Allistragh first operated as the Doyle/McMahon School in 1984. In 1988 it became the McMahon School and then in 1992 it was renamed as the Micken School. We first competed with 16 Adults and just 5 children. Over time the numbers grew to an average membership of 50 members.

Allistragh was a foundation School of the Celtic and Irish Dance Association.

Allistragh has long prided itself in accepting all Nationalities and even pupils with Disabilities.


Allistragh is a member of CIDA. Allistragh is involved with the local community by way of displays eg  st patricks day, school fetes  and local events. We are involved in 5 competitions a year. We provide irish dancing at affordable and reasonable costs. We have many second hand dresses available for sale or hire as well as second hand shoes. We take ages 4 years and up to adults. We welcome retired irish dancers. Our teacher training programme is available to senior dancers.
